NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Gallio 114) This beautifully Spectorian release written by Jerry Riopelle and Al Hazan was recorded on October 1, 1964 but not issued until April 1966 as the last and most elusive of the three singles by the Lornettes on the Gallio label. The session held at Hollywood's Radio Recorders also included the tracks, 'Down The Block And Up To Heaven' and 'Funny Little Heart'. With wonderful arrangements by the great Gene Page and fantastic backing tracks by the 'Wrecking Crew', other than charting in a few southern California areas, the Lornettes discs unfortunately failed to chart nationally. October 2012 - The Lornettes lead singer Lorna, who now goes by the name of Asha, remembers: ".....Thank you so much for your comments on the music and records from long ago. I was 14 years old, and there were 4 of us about that same age. We were going to Oxnard High School and were allowed out of our classes to take the limo to Hollywood to record. Mr. John Gallio was our manager at the time. (thus Gallio records). Got to meet a lot of very important people too! The Page brothers.....Gene and Billy and also Barry White. (we did a lot of background work for him at Bronco records and later at 20th-Century ), and it led to a pretty interesting life in music. We did background work for The Ronettes working with Phil Spector. Performed in Reno Nevada for some 20-plus years with a group of family members called "Martha's Children." We are still performing, now as a Gospel group. We are called "Honestly" and will have some original music out very soon. I am a music teacher in Oregon. Passing on what I have learned to the children. Won't stop, can't stop!!" *Many thanks to author William Sargent for researching the session details.
