In June 2003 I was diagnosed with anorexia, after having lost over half my body weight in less than a year. It all happened so quickly and spiraled so horribly out of control. It's actually quite difficult for me to completely remember getting ill, I think my brain was shutting down a bit and also blocked out the trauma of the experience.... I've tried my best to pull together what I can remember into a story. This is part 1, getting ill. Part 2 will cover hospital admissions, and Part 3 will cover post-hospital and adult life with AN. Hope this helps you get to know me and my background better. Recording this has made me HATE anorexia so much. No one ever gets ill on purpose, and we just don't deserve it. It acted as a "solution" to life's problem at one point in time, but really all it is doing is ruining our lives and maybe even ending them completely!
