Indonesia has these amazing hidden gems, the islands have a lure like none other. Off the beaten track and hard to get to, but the adventure had just started. Flying into Tarakan in Sep 2017, I was excited but that excitement was nothing in compared to what awaited me. From the Manta scramble at Sangalaki, to the Whale sharks sucking at the nets under the Bagans in Derawan and the amazing stingless Jelly Fish of Kakaban lake, the wonders never ceased. The icing on on the cake were the Barracuda tornadoes of Maratua. Swirls in thousands that blocked the sun light and kept one enchanted with their movement. The week went by too fast and the crew of the Raja Ampat Aggressor left us with smiles and bubbles in the blue.
