If at first you don’t succeed. Try, try again If you succeed first time there is only one conclusion, your goal wasn’t audacious enough. We teach satisfaction that's attached to the goal and not the journey. Teachers view themselves as teachers where as in fact the most closely matched job description would be 'adventurer' . Imagine the difference between waking up in the morning and thinking, I'm a low paid teacher OR waking up in the morning and thinking; I'm the best-paid adventurer. A culture of failure in schools will raise achievement and moral. At the first you won't succeed, you're trying to reach failure. That's when you know you've passed your limits and achieved your current potential, that's where you know you've succeeded. The impact of failure and how it breeds more and more success. Philip focuses on 'third horizon thinking' for Microsoft, focusing on education. He constantly asks- "what would happen if..." and explores the impact of technology on education. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
