Traditions such as being religious, eating together as family, respecting and helping out elders, greeting someone with a smile, and practicing 'bayanihan' are some of the values and traditions that needs to be preserved and passed to the future generation. Filipinos preserved these values and traditions through families; with the older generation serving as role models to the younger generation. Unfortunately, this chain has been broken with the demise of the Filipino family. It is sad to see that some of these Filipinos' long - embraced cultures have slowly been fading and some of them are no longer observed and practiced by many Filipinos. This discussion will emphasize the importance of an intact family in preserving Filipino values and traditions.
