Syrah vs Petite Sirah - Episode #289 from 1337 Wine TV. Like this? Watch the latest episode of 1337 Wine TV on Blip! http://blip.tv/1337-wine-tv/watch Author: Mark V. Fusco San Antonio, TX In this episode of 1337 Wine TV, Mark compares two wines made from two different grapes that many people think are the same - Syrah and Petite Sirah. He reviews the 2010 La Combe Close Reserve from the Crozes Hermitage region of the Rhone in France. He also reviews the 2010 Stagapos;s Leap Petite Sirah from Napa Valley. In the 3rd segment he goes over the differences between the grapes. ***UPDATE 2/13/14*** Due to a common confusion regarding Stags' Leap Winery and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars the red wine that won in the 1976 Judgement of Paris was from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and NOT Stags' Leap Winery. I've corrected the name of the wine reviewed in the link here to reflect what I actually reviewed (the apostrophe is after the 's' not before it). Thanks to Paul Stevens for emailing me about this error. Face meet palm! I knew about the name confusion in the AVA and winery names, I just did't catch it when I did my research. I remember thinking something was weird when I researched Stags' Leap Winery's history when it didn't mention the Judgement of Paris.
