🕉️ Distraction of the mind, the secret of lust and the power of balance | An inspirational story | Radha Soami Spiritual Wisdom Have you ever wondered why bad thoughts come to our mind again and again? We cannot stop them even if we want to. Sometimes we get so disturbed by these thoughts that we start blaming ourselves. But are these thoughts really our fault? Or does our mind deceive us sometimes? 👉🏻 In this video, we will know such an inspirational story which reveals the real nature of our mind, the true meaning of lust and the importance of balance in life in a very simple and effective way. 🌿 Mind: Friend as well as Enemy The mind is such a tool which can take us up in life and if it is not kept under control, then the same mind can also take us towards darkness. On one hand it is the closest friend and on the other hand it becomes the biggest enemy. When we follow the mind, it leads us astray but when we master it, it becomes our greatest strength. 💭 Lust: Not Evil, But a Sign Many people think that lust is a sin but is it really so? 🧠 Lust is born out of some unfulfilled need within us. Just as we crave for food when we are hungry, similarly when physical or mental needs remain unfulfilled, the mind gives a signal in the form of lust. Radha Swami Ji clearly said: Lust is not a wrong thing, it is just an emotion. When we try to suppress it instead of understanding it, then the problem arises. 🐾 Difference between man and animal Animals also have sexual desire but they use it only for reproduction. Whereas man has made it a means of pleasure and enjoyment. This is where the problems start. When a person's intellect loses balance, he runs after his desires to such an extent that he loses himself. He thinks that he is controlling his lust but in reality, the lust is controlling him. 🧘🏻♂️ A profound story of a Guru and his disciple In this video, we see the story of a young man and his Guru. The thoughts of lust trouble the young man a lot. He wants to stop himself but fails again and again. Then the Guru teaches him through a beautiful story and experience that… It is important to understand lust and maintain its balance rather than suppress it. A simple but profound story of Guru Ji teaches us how important it is to differentiate between the flowing water of a river and the need of the plants in the garden. Thoughts of the mind: Like water Guru Ji gives a deep message to his disciple from the water of the drains: 🧱 When the disciple tries to stop the water by putting mud and stones in the drain, the water finds another way. 👁🗨 This is the condition of our thoughts, those which are forcibly stopped come back in some other form. 🪨 Effort is stone and thought is water. And this water flows out from somewhere or the other. We get more entangled in trying to stop it. 🔁 Where does the solution come from? Guruji finally takes us to the root from where the water (thought) is coming. It is stopped there. But then another deep question arises: If the water is completely stopped, how will the plants survive? Here Guruji explains that balance is the solution. Neither too much nor too less. Neither suppressing nor getting carried away by the flow. Rather, a state where we understand the need and fulfill it in a balanced manner. 🔄 Can thoughts ever be completely removed? Another important question from Guruji: If I say - do not think about mango, then what will you think first? Disciple's answer: The picture of mango will come. This is the truth. Whatever you try to stop your mind from, that is the first thing that comes to the fore. That is why it is important to give it direction and not suppress it. It should not be considered bad but it should be understood and balanced. The mind cannot be controlled forcefully. Too much or too little is harmful. True spirituality is to keep everything in balance.
