In the mountain tops of British Columbia, sits an abandoned doomsday bunker built by a man named Vernon pick. The bunker is made of 2 feet thick cement walls and bullet proof glass. The home was built in the early 1970s out of fear that a catastrophic event would soon take place. The post apocalyptic bunker has sat abandoned since 1986 when Pick sadly passed away from lung cancer. Vernon pick was born in Wisconsin in 1903 but moved out and joined the marines at 16 years old. Although Pick had very little formal education, he possessed an incredible appetite for knowledge. He was a multi-talented renaissance man with utopian ideals matched only by a thirst for technological innovation. In 1951, pick and his wife moved from Wisconsin to grand juction when his workshop burnt to the ground. He became a uranium miner and after 9 months struck gold. Pick took his newfound fortune and started off with an estate in California, but shortly after converted it into a research facility. He soon after abandoned that idea when the Cold War paranoia sparked a bomb shelter boom across America. Pick decided to build a long-term survival retreat to prepare for the end of days.
