“DULL” is a new musical project in which Konrad Aksinowicz takes us into a futuristic cyberpunk world. He is set to release an album titled “X Æ A-12” this autumn, inspired by the name of one of Elon Musk's children. The first announcement of the project is the single “True Love,” available on streaming platforms. Konrad Aksinowicz is a director, writer, screenwriter, and leader of the band AKX. DULL is Konrad’s homage to the New Wave music of “The Cure” and “Joy Division”, punk bands like “Blink-182” and “Gang of Four”, and alternative groups such as “Primus”, “Mr. Bungle”, “Melvins”, and “Sausage”. The album features sessions with drummer Max Psuja. The entire project is produced by Szymon Swoboda from Vintage Records & Studio Chróst. The illustrations for the album and singles are created by Konrad Kęska, while Dominik Ostrowski oversees the editorial work for the vinyl and CD release. Konrad Aksinowicz: “After the fourth studio album of AKX, “PLAY” I knew I had to create a new band that would fully convey the vibe I wanted to hit this time. Even in “SO PURE” and “PLAY” there were moments of punk sound, but to make it sound and work as I envisioned, I needed to create something new. The dull, distorted sound is like something out of a psychedelic dream combined with pure New Wave and Punk. Most importantly, retuning my first string from E to A provided the potential denominator to create 18 songs, of which the first 10 will appear on the album. I am thrilled that I was able to record this a year ago, and now it’s time to show it to the world. We worked hard on the mix together with Szymon Swoboda from Vintage Records/Studio Chróst. The drums were superbly performed by Max Psuja, who perfectly felt my music. I also laid down the bass after the guitars and vocals, which was a new and wonderful experience for me. The next step will be assembling a band to perform this live, as I believe that only then will this music resonate as it should. If there isn't a stage for this type of music? Well, we’ll have to create one, and ideas are slowly emerging for that.
