FX DRS .22 First Shots and First Impressions

First full 14 shot magazine through the new FX DRS .22 after zeroing scope. I cocked up loading mag by not having finger behind the first pellet so it dropped through a tiny bit more than it should, this stopped the mag sliding into breech, once I pushed it back into mag then everything worked perfectly, the mag is the most fiddly item I have ever used and it's difficult to pre wind it and stop first pellet falling through with fat fingers, may replace this with a 3D printed mag if I don't get used to it. The trigger is incredibly light compared to most of my other guns, it’s as light and sweet as my Feinwerkbau competition rifle and can catch you out if you are not expecting it after shooting something with a heavy trigger. I’m not a fan of side lever cocking and much prefer bolt action but this system is very smooth and easy to use and feels top quality and much nicer than my more expensive Brocock, also has hold open when mag is empty so no “poof of shame” at the range by firing an empty mag. Not done any serious pellet or power testing yet so just stuck a few JSB 15.89 5.52 pellets through it, as you would expect from a gun at this price point on a 10 metre range they are all going through the same hole. The silencer is just a cheapie that was kicking around in my spares but it has made the rifle virtually silent and there is no mechanical noise at all coming from it. Did not have any issues fitting a normal scope and mounts to the dovetails, I know some people have complained it can be difficult to get correct alingement and eye relief and have to fit a raiser rail. Got to find something to moan about but it’s a bit I hardly ever use so not really a problem, the safety catch is stupidly stiff and has bent slightly while trying to test it (have sorted this now, it was catching on the inside of stock and just needed adjusting slightly, not what I expected for a high end rifle), Also a slight design flaw is the filling probe hole is opposite side of stock to the pressure gauge so you can’t see it while charging with air if rifle laying on its side. Looking forward to the weekend when I can get out and do some longer range pellet and power testing, did stick a few shots over chrono and unfortunally it was over powered for UK at 12.2 fpe (I do have a licence but no varation for FAC airguns) so I had to remove stock and wind hammer spring back out nearly 1 full turn to get it settled at 11.5 fpe, glad to see no anti tamper on hammer spring as all responsible airgunners should be able to make sure they can keep within the law, it is very consistent already after only 100 shots with most shots being within 3 fps.
