Her friend who was with her, was also beaten up by the accused when the incident happened. The incident happened when the victim and her friend were in Bopdev Ghat area. One of the accused approached them in a car posing as an activist and claimed that couples were prohibited in the area and took photos. After forcing the woman into their car, they drove to a different location and gang raped her.
