My first look of the Kidde KN-COSM-BA Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm. I am disappointed.

This is meant to replace the KN-COSM-B's back in October 21, 2013. When I first saw these units, I thought these alarms were decent, but when I finally got my hands on one, I highly regret it. These things suck so bad. Not as bad as the 900-CUDR but still. Although these are slightly more user-friendly, it is very unreliable. I've been getting reports of these malfunctioning, not going off for a real situation, and false smoke and CO alarms and hush mode not working well and it can't detect smoke as seen. Also the fact they just had to completely redesign these units in one of the worst ways possible. Battery drawer is very loose, the alarm is nowhere near as loud, and the unit requires the smoke and CO to sink into the unit and then reach the very hidden sensors which is why they can't detect crap and why they false while on the KN-COSM-B's, the sensors are more out in the open and being protected by dust at the same time, which makes detection so much better.
