I get the Immortal Achievement with the Hazardous Mechs and that allows me to unlock to the Arachnophiles. Arachnophiles Mechs: The way to use this team is to use the Slide Mech to reposition enemy vek for the Bulk Mech to dish out maximum damage. The Arachnoid mech can then score kills, creating robot spiders that can serve a variety of purposes such as killing, blocking and shielding. Bulk Mech: A tricky to use mech that is fun to play when it works. You fire a rocket that bounces off one target and then continues to potentially hit another target. Both targets will end up getting pushed along the path of the rocket. This has potential to deal a lot of damage and displace allied and enemy units so try to use the slide mech to set up favourable attacks and use the arachnoid mech to get kills to spawn robot spiders. The ricochet is nice as well as you can reach enemy vek that are too far away to attack. Getting the second core upgrade is recommended first as it'll create more opportunities to get better value out of this attack while not damaging your allies. Lastly, this mech is tricky to use in city dense areas as the ricocheting rocket can easily hit allied cities, so try to aim for enemies in open spaces. Arachnoid Mech: An interesting mech where a kill on an enemy vek will generate a robot spider in its place. The arachnoid mech itself is not that great with low damage output but the spider is very flexible. It doesn't destroy itself at the end of the turn so you can use it later if you need it. It can block attacks, deal damage and kills, block spawning vek, use it's positioning for a ricochet for the Bulk Mech or with the upgrade, inflict ACID on an enemy vek. It does destroy itself after attacking though, so take great care when you decide to use it. I'd say it's crucial to grab the first core upgrade ASAP, as the more robot spiders you create, the more map control and more possible attacks and defences you can construct to help have a successful mission. Slide Mech: The slide mech is basic and simple to use. It simply shifts itself and adjacent tiles in a direction of your choosing as long you have space. The two core upgrades add a shield to the slide mech and a shield to your allies respectively helping to score bump damage or allow other mechs to block attacks or spawn points. Very good support unit in that regard. Primarily though it should try to set up kills/damage for the bulk mech or push vek into water or chasms. Probably best to get at least the first upgrade so the slide mech doesn't take itself out by accident.
