Chorale prelude on the hymn 'Hell morgonstjärna, mild och ren' (Hail morning star, mild and pure/How lovely shines the morning star/Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern) by Torsten Nilsson (1920-1999) followed by a four-part chorale setting, played on the 1967 Hammarberg organ in Mora Church, Sweden. Here I'm using: Left hand (played an octave higher) on the Huvudverk (Great): Kvintadena 16', Traversflöjt 4', Ters 1 3/5'; Right hand on the Ryggpositiv (Choir): Trägedakt 8', Waldflöjt 2', Septima 1 1/7'; PED: Subbas 16', Gedakt 8', Nachthorn 4', Rörflöjt 2', Mixtur IV (5 1/3', 3 1/5', 2 2/7', 1 7/9'). For the Chorale – Great: Kvintadena 16', Principal 8', Gedakt 8', Fugara 8', Oktava 4', Traversflöjt 4', Oktava 2', Rauschkvint II; PED: Subbas 16', Principal 8', Gedakt 8', Nachthorn 4', Mixtur IV, P+GR. This piece is taken from the 1961 collection 'Annorlunda koralförspel' ('Divergent Chorale Preludes'), and is quite experimental with its three different keys. The many mutation stops of this organ add to the colourfulness of the piece! Recorded on the 1st of February 2022.
