In Lesson #5, we added scores, sounds, and enemies to our "Hop & Dodge" game. But today in Lesson #6, we are adding the final touches to turn this project into a polished, professional-looking game! 🏆 It is time to move beyond just "stopping the game" and create proper Game Over Screens, High Score counters, and Rising Difficulty. We will learn how to use Broadcast Messages to control different "states" of our game, like the Start Menu and the End Screen. 👇 In this video, you will learn: Game States: How to switch from a "Playing" mode to a "Game Over" screen using Broadcast messages. High Score: How to create a variable that remembers your personal best score using If Score - High Score logic. Rising Difficulty: How to make the game harder the longer you survive by increasing the Speed variable as your score goes up! 🚀 Start Menu: Creating a cool Title Screen with a "Play Button" sprite. Polishing: Hiding sprites when they aren't needed (like hiding the player on the Game Over screen). Background Music: Adding a looping backing track to set the mood. ⏱️ Chapters & Timestamps 0:00 - Intro: What we are building today 1:15 - Drawing a "Game Over" Backdrop 2:30 - The "Broadcast" Block: Switching Screens 4:00 - Coding the High Score System 5:25 - Increasing Difficulty (Speed Variables) 6:45 - Creating a Start Menu & Play Button 7:50 - Adding Background Music 8:30 - Final Game Showcase & Outro 🐱 New to Scratch?
