Mick is sitting in his apartment deep in thought reflecting on past events. It's been 2 weeks since his "funeral" and only 2 days since he's found out that Beth and Josef are now a couple! They certainly didn't waste any time - it hurt like hell. He decides to make his presence known and heads to Beth's apartment, where unsurprisingly he finds Josef comfortably settling in . Naturally they are both stunned and shocked to see him alive and well! Questions and accuasations start flying across the room and Mick quickly puts them in the picture as to what had transpired. He'd been hired by Josh, Assistant D.A., to go undercover on a top secret case. He had to play along as too many lives were at risk. He had been sworn to secrecy which is why he hadn't been able to confide in his girlfriend and his best friend! He explains about how he rigged the police car and managed to get out in time. The D.A. had wanted to keep it all quiet that Mick was still alive - the funeral, the press, everything had been part of the undercover story! Beth and Josef stare on in amazement, taking all this in. Mick demands to know how the hell they could have betrayed him so soon after his "death". He never even know they liked each other up until now! After a much heated debate Mick eventually leaves, telling Beth sarcastically that he's happy for her and Josef. He later settles the score with so-called best friend, relieving some of his anger and frustration, after which Josef disappears. The next day, still shaken by the sudden turn of events and racked with guilt, Beth decides to go and see Mick hoping to make amends, but he's not very engaging and makes it very clear to her that it's going to take a long time, if any, before he can forgive either her or Josef for their betrayal. Who needs enemies when he's got friends like them! To be continued.......
