Planting Seeds for the Future of Farming

President Franklin D. Roosevelt once wrote, “The nation that destroys its soil destroys itself.” At Soil Born Farms, near Sacramento, the mission is to improve the local soil and instill in the community the benefits of regenerative farming. Corpsmembers from the #CCCPlacer Center are fully bought in on the idea. As interns at the farm, they’re tilling, planting, and helping grow crops headed to local schools and markets. More importantly, they’re learning how to rebuild soil health, increase biodiversity, and benefit the local ecosystem. The concept of working with nature, as opposed to against it, is what makes regenerative farming and this internship truly special.
