If you have a pastor, chances are you’ve been impacted by him whether you realize it or not. He’s been there in moments you didn’t see. Late nights. Early mornings. Hospital rooms. Funerals. Counseling sessions. Sermons prayed over long before they were ever preached. He’s carried burdens that weren’t his to carry, loved people through messes that don’t resolve cleanly, and shown up week after week even when it cost him more than anyone knew. Pastors give their lives to shepherding souls. This song, “Two Days a Week,” is a little tongue-in-cheek, but it’s also deeply sincere. It’s a homage to pastors everywhere. The ones grinding quietly, loving faithfully, and staying obedient when the work is heavy and the applause is nonexistent. This is a gift from me and the fellas at the Practical(ly) Pastoring podcast to pastors who keep showing up. We see you. We’re grateful for you. And we hope this makes you smile, nod, and maybe feel a little less alone. If you’ve been impacted by a pastor, maybe today’s a good day to thank him.
