Oh man, you guys will NOT believe what happened! I was chilling in Bulahdelah. Got the van all set up, awning out, ready for a relaxing couple of days by the river. About an hour later... BAM! This storm rolls in out of nowhere. Carnage came flooding into my camp. The rain was coming down sideways, the wind was howling like crazy, and the river... well, the river decided it wanted to pay us a visit! It started rising so fast, we were scrambling to move everything. And then, the inevitable happened. Our trusty caravan awning? Gone. Just ripped right off like it was made of paper. Honestly, it was a bit terrifying for a while there. I was soaked, trying to secure everything, watching the water creep closer and closer. But hey, that's van life, right? You take the good with the absolutely torrential downpours and rogue rivers! The SES arrived and escorted me to safety. Though, driving to the next camp site, two of the main roads were totally under water, over 1 metre deep. I'm safe and sound now, just a little damp and definitely awning-less.
