Trailer Please Hold My Hand - Compagnie Tiuri & Jordy Dik

Please Hold My Hand embodies an urgent theme: the position of women in a world that is out of balance. The performance explores how women navigate a reality not shaped by them, where they face inequality, boundary-crossing behavior, and violence. In the Netherlands, a woman is killed every eight days; a stark fact that underscores the necessity of this story. From this starting point, a dance-theatre piece unfolds like a visual poem about connection and resilience. Four dancers move like waves through a landscape of flower petals, carried by the rhythm of the seasons and by each other. Artistic director Jordy Dik shares: “I wanted to celebrate female strength, but I discovered how unsafe and unequal the world still is for women. Especially as a man, I could not ignore that. That’s why I created, together with them, a choreography that carries all of this: joy, loss, longing, resistance, and the hope that we can change this together.” Please Hold My Hand refuses to accept fear and inequality as a permanent reality and is an ode to the women we love; here, there, everywhere.
