Designing the perfect cryptocurrency portfolio: Bitcoin and the Efficient Frontier

Why does everyone want validation from others on the makeup of their cryptocurrency portfolio? Well, we all want to be prepared for major market movements. However, getting emotional advice not based on data can often lead people astray. In this video, we discuss how you can design your own portfolio to account for your own risk tolerance. By running a million different portfolio weightings involving BTC, ETH, XRP, and LTC, and using historical returns to project future returns (dubious, but will optimize in a future video), we can identify a portfolio weighting that maximizes the Sharpe ratio (risk-adjusted returns). In future videos, we will systematically explore various sectors within the cryptocurrency asset class, to identify various weightings of that sector and what weightings maximize the Sharpe ratio.
