The Indian Classical Dance Team delivered a powerful and spiritually charged performance of Gondhal, a traditional folk–ritual dance form from Maharashtra, securing a well-deserved win in the Group Dance category at MIRAI 2025, hosted by Pragyanam School, Gurgaon. Gondhal is a sacred folk tradition performed as a ritual of devotion, primarily dedicated to Goddess Renuka, Tulja Bhavani, and other regional deities of Maharashtra. Traditionally presented by Gondhali communities, the dance combines energetic footwork, rhythmic movements, expressive storytelling, and powerful chanting, creating an atmosphere of intense spiritual energy. The performance is accompanied by live or rhythmic vocal music and percussion, symbolising a call to the divine and the victory of good over evil. Through strong formations, synchronised movements, and authentic expressions, the team beautifully captured the essence, intensity, and cultural depth of Gondhal. Their performance stood out for its discipline, precision, emotional connection, and respect for tradition, leaving a lasting impact on the audience and judges alike. This winning act was a celebration of India’s rich folk heritage, blending devotion, rhythm, and storytelling into a compelling stage presentation. The team’s achievement at MARAI 2025 reflects their dedication, artistic maturity, and commitment to preserving and presenting traditional Indian dance forms with excellence.
