A short documentary exploring the beauty, power and hidden complexity of the insect world through image and music. “The Insect Kingdom” is a short nature documentary by Cue Tube, focusing on the role of insects in nature and their fragile relationship with human life. The film encourages a more conscious and respectful interaction with the natural environment. The original symphonic score was written to elevate scale, movement and emotional perspective, transforming the smallest creatures into an epic cinematic experience. The music blends full orchestral writing with experimental sound elements, allowing texture and colour to mirror the diversity and rhythm of the natural world. Alongside traditional orchestral and sample-based instruments, the score incorporates selected bespoke sound elements created, performed and recorded by the composer. These custom sounds are used sparingly and intentionally, functioning as textural and gestural details that enhance organic movement and naturalisation — particularly in moments evoking the physical presence, motion and tactile quality of the insect world.
