Jo was 43 when she came down with a headache and sickness. She didn't think anything of it, despite recognising her symptoms as those of meningitis. Jo ended up in hospital for four months fighting for her life. She lost her toes, the digits on her right hand and suffered a partial amputation to her left hand. Meningitis Now first met Jo in hospital and provided her with support and counselling and a year later, Jo attended her first Rebuilding Futures Day. The People's Projects funding would make a massive difference to adults like Jo living with the after effects of meningitis.
