For photos and nostalgia of RAF Swinderby, click this link   / 1935171470142527   A short slideshow of many buildings still extant in 1997. I did my Square Bashing here in 1975 and when I visited in 1997, it was very sad to see it the way it was all derelict and forlorn. Not the throbbing pulsing recruitment unit it had been. A quick look on google maps shows all of the main site gone. Sad! It is important to remember that the specific use of any building may have changed over the years. This is particularly relevant when a station starts off as an operational flying station and ends up as something else, such as a recruit training station. Captions shown are the original use.
