Mayor Tom Koch with a Quincy, COVID Update for Friday, 12-04-20 Full Transcript...Hello Quincy. Mayor Tom Koch here with your Covid update. This week's numbers have gone up as we've talked about earlier in the week. The new cases today is 49. Down from 61yesterday and 61 the day before. However, the trend is obviously upward. Our 2-week average is 31and our 1-week average is 39 cases. 612 active cases. A total of 2,815 and 87 recovered. The deaths have held steady thankfully and our positivity rate has gone over 3%. We are at 3.75%. We are still in the yellow. Thos that follow the guidelines set that creates the different colors. If we exceed the 4% along with the numbers we have we will go into the red zone so we are going in the wrong direction. Now we have seen cities and towns across the Commonwealth experience much higher number. Quite frankly I don't want Quincy to get into that area as I'm sure you do so we continue to have to do our part. I know when I run into people they tell me I watched you and you say the same old thing because it is the same message. We need to social distance. We need to wear masks. We need to wash hands. We need to stay away from large groups. No house parties. I know it's the holidays. It's going to be tough but I ask you to please help cooperate so we as a community can hold our own and stay as healthy as we possibly can. I did get someone who reached out on Facebook asking me if I was wearing a Chinese Communist flag lapel pin. It is a lapel pin of the US Flag and the Marine flag as I have a son in the Marine Corp. So just to clear that up with anybody that may be watching. In the meantime, continue to support your local businesses when you can and if you can't get out to dinner there are plenty of local restaurants doing take out. So, thanks for tuning in. Enjoy the weekend. God Bless.
