An original instrumental ukulele song made in every town in Massachusetts. Every note in the melody was individually recorded in a different town. 351 towns, 351 notes. Buy the song: http://bit.ly/SidewalksNoahWisch Massachusetts has been my home for my entire life. It’s where I’ve grown up and made so many of my fondest memories. One day I had a thought: I’m an adventure nut — I’ve crossed the United States by car multiple times and travelled to a number of different countries around the globe — and yet there are still places in my home state that I’ve never seen. I wanted to explore all the cities and towns that I had heard of but never been to. And so this project came to be. I wrote the song, and then over the course of three months in the summer of 2017, my girlfriend and I went road tripping (and ferry tripping) around Massachusetts to record it. In every town, we stopped at one of the state’s distinct white town line signs, set up the camera and a mic, and recorded a single note on the ukulele. Yeah, there were some long days, but it was absolutely worth it. Massachusetts is such an incredible and beautiful state; from the big cities to the small farm towns, there’s a place for everyone to enjoy themselves. I highly recommend getting out and exploring more of the area you live in. I would do it again in an instant.
