Note: Manikins were part of the early punk scene in Perth that spawned The Victims and Triffids. Beginning life as the Cheap Nasties, the band changed its name to Manikins straight after the departure of guitarist/vocalist Kim Salmon. Salmon would form The Scientists. After many releases and a relocation to Melbourne, Manikins dispanded in the early 80's. However, drummer Mark Betts registered the band's name and formed a new version of the band. The general public - none the wiser - assumed the Perth punk pioneers simply got themselves a female singer and headed mainstream.
