Travelers at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport are dealing with dozens of delayed flights and several cancellations Sunday as long security lines continue at the airport. According to the flight tracking service FlightAware, 103 flights were delayed and 7 were canceled Sunday at MSY. All of the disruptions were tied to flights traveling within, into or out of the United States. The delays come as the airport deals with long lines at TSA security checkpoints linked to a staffing shortage during the federal government's partial shutdown. Airport officials earlier warned travelers to arrive well ahead of their flights because security screening could take longer than normal. Airport spokesperson Erin Burns said TSA is experiencing a shortage of workers, which is slowing the security process.
