In the heart of Granada, where the sounds of flamenco echo through narrow stone alleys and the spirit of Spanish guitar lives on, a young luthier named Francisco Jiménez is quietly crafting masterpieces. This recording features “Spanish Dance No. 5” by Enrique Granados, played on one of Francisco’s latest creations — a stunning handmade guitar inspired by the legendary 1953 Marcelo Barbero model. With flamed maple back and sides and a spruce soundboard, this instrument blends brilliance with warmth, clarity with soul. It’s more than a guitar — it’s a voice from another time. The performance was captured inside Francisco’s workshop — a place where wood, fire, and tradition meet. Surrounded by the scent of lacquer and sawdust, under soft Andalusian light, the guitar was recorded just a few meters from where it was born. This is not just a performance. It’s a tribute — to Spanish music, to craftsmanship, to a lineage of sound passed down through hands and heart. More recordings and stories from this place are coming soon… Stay tuned.
