Chris Brown, Northern District Public Service Commissioner, joins the show from the middle of the hardest-hit areas to give a firsthand look at the damage left behind by Winter Storm Fern. Brown explains how the storm carved a path from the Delta through central and northeast Mississippi, saying the destruction rivals what many remember from the 1994 ice storm. Heavy ice brought down trees and power lines by the thousands, creating dangerous, hard-to-reach conditions for utility crews working around the clock. He walks through the massive effort to restore power, from downed TVA transmission lines to the slow, manual work required to rebuild lines, all while keeping crews and communities safe. But the conversation also highlights something just as powerful: Mississippi stepping up. Brown shares stories of neighbors helping neighbors, generators delivered to restore water systems, families opening their homes, and everyday acts of kindness that have made a real difference during recovery. While the damage is widespread, Brown says one thing is clear - the resilience and compassion across Mississippi have been even stronger. _______________________________________________________ ~-Links-~ Website - http://www.supertalk.fm/ Twitter - / supertalk Facebook - / supertalk Instagram - / supertalk TikTok - / supertalkms
