In this Part 1 of Renew Wellbeing Training Afternoon for London churches, Ruth Rice tells the story of how Renew Wellbeing was born from her breakdown 12 years ago, and the profound learning that it's OK not to be OK, and that God loved her in the absolute midst of not doing anything. This gave her permission to "Slow Down, Show up and Pray" - as a model of doing church and community for those who also were not OK. Since then, and her own "Renew Wellbeing" space , 7 years ago, many more churches have come to realise that this model of ministry and mission is one to learn from, and there are now over 200 Renew spaces across the country. This video sets out the principles of Renew Wellbeing, told through Ruth's own journey and that of her church. Part 2: the Practicalities of setting up a Renew Wellbeing Space is covered in another video which can be found here: / compassionatecommunities There is also a film telling the story of setting up a Renew Space in a London church- Francis Dalton from Haven Green Baptist Church, in Ealing. This talk was recorded on 6th July 2022 at St Marks Church , Hamilton Terrace. It formed part of a training afternoon from Renew Wellbeing, with Sanctuary Mental Health, for London churches interested in setting up their own Renew space where "It's OK not to be OK". The training was organised by Compassionate Communities, part of the Diocese of London. As part of the training we provided Ruth's book: Slow Down, Show up and Pray which you can purchase here: https://standrewsbookshop.co.uk/produ...
