Starting off my resolution for 2026 early and picking the camera back up to make more videos/vlogs. In today's vlog, we head on a quick out-and-back trip to Portland, OR to buy my new-to-me 2016 Chevrolet Colorado ZR1. This particular example was perfectly spec'd for me, Crew Cab with a Canopy, Tow + ZR1 Package, Low Miles, and a Clean, Accident-Free Title. My plans for this car aren't crazy: leave it mostly stock with some appearance mods (wheels, lights) and potentially an off-the-shelf tune from a local company. This replaced my 2012 BMW X5 E70 and is perfect for the mountains and towing cars, boats, and all the toys I can think of I'd want. The X5 was a decent tow rig, but it was only equipped with an aftermarket hitch receiver installed by U-Haul, so it didn't have any sort of assisted braking or tow amenities/modes - plus, it was already nearing 130,000 miles. What mods do you recommend for these platforms/trucks in general?
