My continued log of trying to grow some sugarcane in containers in Lincoln Nebraska. The goal here was to see if they could make it at all indoors. They have been indoors for 4 months and some are still doing well while others have totally died. There are two different growing environments. One with a South Facing window along with T5 20000 lumen light and the other with no natural light while using a 1500W LED grow light. Both lights were on timers for 13hrs. I think maintaining a high enough soil temp of 70F was the main issue in growth. Its tough to do so when our high temps were -0 F on some days. I originally planted them late May 2017 and it is mid Feb 2018 now which makes a little over 8 months. The next step will be to try to regrow them from the eyes on the stalk and root balls which I will start mid March and post the next update then. Thanks for watching!
