In this video, I’m making a custom passport holder for my mom, designed around how she actually uses it. She wanted something compact, similar in size to my own, but with a few changes to make it more practical and comfortable for her. To meet her needs, I added more card slots (though not as many as my dad’s version), used contrasting stitching, and widened the card slots on the left panel so she can store cards that come with protective sleeves. I also modified the upper edges of the card slots to make the cards easier to grab — a small change that helps now that her fingers aren’t as nimble as they used to be. That edge modification ended up adding a nice design element as well, especially once cards are inserted and create a contrasting background within the slots. To avoid repeating too much of the construction process from my earlier passport holder builds, this video is shorter and more focused, mainly highlighting the design decisions and the unique details of this version. As always, thanks for following along on my leathercraft journey. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these accessibility-focused design choices or how you’d approach a similar project.
