In their early years, they recorded two demo tapes, one in 1999 and the second in 2000, which marked their initial foray into the music scene. However, the band went through a brief hiatus, returning in September 2001 under the new name Ctrl-Alt-Del. In April 2002, significant changes occurred within the group when the drummer Rafał Rozwadowski and vocalist Kamil Kaczmarczyk left the band. Their departures led to the addition of two new members, Piotr Sypuła (drums) and his brother Adam Sypuła (vocals), both of whom had previous experience with the band Spastic. This change reinvigorated the band’s dynamic, and Ctrl-Alt-Del began performing live, including participating in notable events such as the Węgorzewo Rock Festival in 2002. Two tracks from their 2002 demo were featured on the compilation album "Nowa Energia vol.2", released by Universal Music Poland, which helped raise their profile. The band continued building momentum, eventually recording their debut album in 2005 at Fonoplastykon Studio in Wrocław with acclaimed Polish music producer Marcin Bors, known for his work with top Polish artists. Ctrl-Alt-Del's sound is frequently described as a blend of various styles, including progressive rock, alternative metal, grunge, funk, and even elements of pop. Critics have likened their sound to a post-modern metal aesthetic, with comparisons drawn to bands like Faith No More due to the eclectic musical structures and the wide-ranging vocal style of Adam Sypuła. Adam's vocal performance is often noted for its versatility, with influences from artists like Mike Patton, Bono, Phil Anselmo, and Chris Cornell. Their songs are characterized by sharp, melodic riffs juxtaposed with heavy, groove-oriented basslines and complex, fragmented rhythms, creating a dynamic and layered sound. Their music has also been featured on Polish radio stations, with the tracks "Stepping Stone" and "Manchild" gaining popularity. These songs have become some of the band’s most recognizable anthems and are often played on local and internet radio stations. For their debut album, Ctrl-Alt-Del collaborated with several prominent Polish musicians. Maja Konarska from the band Moonlight provided backing vocals, Andrzej "Gienia" Markowski (Funny Hippos, Apteka, Tumbao, Ocean) played bass, and Kut-O contributed samples and scratches, giving the album a unique texture and depth.
