How to add New Frequency Parameters of DD Free Dish in Set-top Box (2016) (Hindi) (1080p HD)

Currently, Freedish provides 64 channels including the mandatory Doordarshan channels. The direct-to-home (DTH) platform is planning to expand its capacity to 112 channels by providing MPEG4 STBs. DD free dish charge has been migrated its services from existing Insat-4B to newly launched Gsat-15 satellite. GSAT 15 was launched slightly before Christmas last year (2015) and was aimed at replacing Isat-4B and Insat-3A at 93° East. GSAT 15 satellite has 24 Ku band transponders of 36 Mhz, each transponders of GSAT 15 will help DD increase its free channel offering especially on MPEG-4 platform which it has plans of encrypting. Due to this, the old Frequency Parameters of DD Free Dish in Set-top Box will not working properly after 2 February of 2016. So, you have to add new frequency parameter in your set-top box. Here are some steps for retune or rescan your set-top box (Installation menu may different according to set-top box manufacturers). • Press “Menu” Button on Remote of Set Top Box. • Select “Installation”. • Go to “Manual Search”. • Select Satellite Name (Select /Edit) • Select / Change TP. • Enter Frequency (one by one) to 11090 / 11170 / 11470 / 11510 / 11550 MHz. • Edit/Change Symbol Rate to 29500 Ksps and Polarization to “Vertical” • “Save / Ok” the setting and “Scan” the set top box. • Press “Exit” Button on Remote. After editing the “LNB” parameters to 9750 Press “OK” to Autoscan your box. In Case you are not able to see Installation option in your set-top box menu then, Go to Program Setup - Auto Scan and then scan. In Auto Scan LNB freq - 9750 Scan mode - All 22k - Off Diseqc - Off If there is no Autoscan then In Program Setup - Add New Program LNB Freq - 9750 10600 Trans freq - 11090 Symbol rate - 29500 Polarity - V 22k - off Diseqc - off Scan Mode - All You will get the channels. Wait few minutes until the auto scanning is completed and then you will find all the channels of DD Freedish tuned. Check Radio List to listen to radio channels in your DD Freedish. Note : 1) After selecting “Autoscan” option you will see the box where old LNB Frequency is 5150, you have to change it to 9750. 2) Consequently, all free dish customers have to rescan their set-top boxes. The new parameters for GSAT-15 are frequencies 11090, 11170, 11470, 11510, and 11550 MHz, symbol rate – 29500 Ksps, Polarisation – vertical, and FEC 3/4. 3) Launched on 11 November 2015, GSAT-15 is located at 93.5°E longitude, where INSAT-3A and 4B are co-located. Consideration : With encryption in new format, Doordarshan can block all or some of the channels on its platform for non-paying customers. Earlier, the DTH provider was operating on just 6 transponders on INSAT-4B using the old MPEG-2 DVB S format. Using the format, each transponder of 36 MHz can beam only around 12-20 channels, depending on the quality of the feed and other technical factors. As a result, DD free dish was giving only 63 channels before it moved from INSAT-4B to GSAT-15. Since the GSAT-15 has 24 DTH transponders, the total capacity becomes 768 SD channels. Out of this, around one third or 250 channels are to be set apart for Free Dish, while the others are likely to be rented to private players. How to tune DD Free Dish? Here are some steps for Receive system of DD Free Dish contains three units: 1) One small sized Dish Antenna along with LNBF 2) Indoor Set-Top-Box (STB) also known as IRD (Integrated Receiver Decoder) and 3) Handy Remote control unit for your Set-top box. Dish Antenna installed at the roof top or on wall facing clear south receives the signal from satellite and transmits it to the indoor set top box unit. The set top box further decodes the different TV channels from the DTH bouquet and feeds it to the TV set for viewing.
