Bil Seiberddiogelwch a Gwydnwch (Sysemau Rhwydwaith a Gwybodaeth) (Siambr Tŷ’r Cyffredin) Yn ddiweddar, siaradais i yn ystod ail ddarlleniad y Bil Seiberddiogelwch a Gwydnwch (Systemau Rhwydwaith a Gwybodaeth). Holais i’r Llywodraeth am bwysigrwydd cryfhau amddiffyniadau i seilwaith cenedlaethol y DU i leihau risg a niwed ymosodiadau seiber bosib. Mae effaith ymosdiadau fel hyn ar fusnesau yn arwyddocaol ac yn gallu achosi sgil-effeithiau ar gadwyni cyflenwi ac economïau lleol. Pwysleisiais fod rhaid cael eglurder o’r Llywodraeth os bod cynlluniau i gael pwerau ymyrryd yn cael ei cynnwys fel rhan o’r Bil er mwyn cau canolfannau data domestig neu ganolfannau mewn argyfwng diogelwch neu weithredol. Byddai hyn yn gam arwyddocaol wrth gynllunio i’r dyfodol rhag argyfyngau cenedolaethol sydd â’r potensial i niweidio’r cyhoedd. / / Cyber Security and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill (Commons Chamber) 06.01.2026 Recently, I made a speech during the second reading of the Cyber Security and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill. I emphasised the importance of strengthening the protections to the UK’s national infrastructure so that the risk and harm of cyber-attacks are protected against. The impact that attacks can have on businesses is significant, but the wider supply chains and local economies are also severely affected. I sought clarity on whether the Government would have last-resort powers to intervene and shut down any domestic data centres or AI systems in the event of a security or operational emergency. This would be a significant step in future-proofing against national emergencies or crises that enables intervention against large-scale harm to the public.
