In this place, drought does not come with violence. It comes with persistence. It steals the green, hardens the earth, weakens bodies and shortens the time. Gradually, the savannah ceases to be a home and becomes a field of absolute resistance. There is no neutrality here. Either you adapt... or you disappear. In many regions of Africa, the rainy season can fail for months - sometimes years consecutive. When this happens, rivers that once meandered through the plains turn into corridors of dust. Lakes shrink day after day until only remain isolated ponds, disputed by hundreds of animals.
