House Party Megamix (Classic Old School and Hardcore from '91 to '93)

When House music landed in Europe and was quickly dominating the clubs and discos in 1990 and 1991 in Holland, the phenomenon 'House Party' or 'Rave' was born. Back then, the various house sub genres and sub cultures weren't yet developed. At House Parties in clubs like Parkzicht, Nighttown, The Roxy and at raves like Multigroove and the first Thunderdomes, the performing DJ's played all tracks that were considered to be House music, not even excluding those top40 mainstream Euro Dance hits. What later became known as Hardcore, was what DJ's played at the later hours of the night. Unfortunately, I was too young to go to these legendary clubs and raves to hear what those DJ's were actually playing (I was 12 or 13). I discovered House and later Hardcore music through the mix CDs Arcade was advertising on the TV. The House Party CD series were excellent pre-recorded mixes, available on CD and Cassette, mixed by the biggest names in the House scene. When I heard House Party VI especially, not knowing yet the difference between House, Techno, Trance, Dance or Hardcore, that CD had the perfect mix of all House-styles... mixed by Buzz Fuzz and Mental Theo This mix is my attempt to create a mix in the similar style as those early House Party CDs from '91 to '93. I tried to give it a similar vibe, with the same variation of styles, long mashups, no longer then a music CD from that period and with an intro and intermezzos. I hope you like it!
