After a long time period of investigation, Doctor Eggman discovered the PHANTOM RUBY. It is a unique artifact which hides a huge amount of energy, so powerful that it surpasses the chaos energy. That can be used to overpower the host and grand them unique abilities or manipulate an opponent by creating illusions, even corrupting their mind with chaos and destructive thoughts. However, its use should be wise and limited, otherwise things will go out of control. Eggman's experiment on the phantom ruby was a failure, causing the destruction of all his base systems, while the ruby began emitting energy uncontrollably. It possessed Sonic... Ever since then, the corruption of the phantom energy slowly took over both Sonic's mind and body. His fur was getting darker, while his thoughts were filled with fake beliefs and illusions, creating a completely new reality around him.
