#fred_eazy21 shows us how to adjust the cooling fan settings on a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 392 6.4L Hemi with a Diablosport Intune i3 Changing the fan control settings on a SRT8 should be the same for mopars with the 5.7L Hemi as we as the 3.6L V6 pentastar and the 3.5L. The reason we are changing the coolant fan settings is because we changed out the stock thermostat to a 180 degree thermostat . Reduced engine temperatures add life to your hemi engine and provide a denser air/fuel mixture. This helps produce more horsepower. Consistent control of engine temperature allows an engine to operate at its peak efficiency no matter what the driving conditions. The factory 205° thermostat simply cycles open and closed; this reduces cooling efficiency in any engine. With the 180° thermostat you get consistent engine cooling and a precise metering of water throughout the engine. RECOMMENDED FAN SETTINGS FOR USE WITH THE DIABLO TUNING: In order to take full advantage of your 180 degree t-stat , on applicable mopars with adjustable fan settings, we recommend the following fan temperature adjustments on your Diablosport tuner. Set All 9 Fan Settings (both Air Condition On and AC Off) to: All HS (High Speed) Fan Settings to 194 Degrees All LS (Low Speed) Fan Settings to 189 Degrees All MS (Med. Speed) Fan Settings to 192 Degrees or in our case reducing the ECT ( Engine Coolant Temperature ) single setting by 20 degrees. Failure to set your fan settings at these higher temps will result in your fans constantly running and can cause your fan motors to burn out prematurely. Adjusting the cooling fan settings on a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with a Hemi engine, particularly when using a lower temperature thermostat like a 180-degree Fahrenheit thermostat, typically involves using a performance tuner such as the DiabloSport inTune i3. Here's a general guide on how to adjust cooling fan settings using the inTune i3 tuner: Connect the Tuner: Start by connecting the inTune i3 tuner to the OBD-II port of your Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. The OBD-II port is usually located under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. Access the Tuning Menu: Once connected, power on the inTune i3 tuner and navigate to the tuning menu. Follow the on-screen prompts and select the appropriate vehicle make, model, and engine type (in this case, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with a Hemi engine). Select Custom Tune Options: Within the tuning menu, look for options related to custom tuning or adjusting parameters. Depending on the specific tuner and software version, these options may be labeled differently. Adjust Fan Settings: Locate the fan control settings within the custom tuning menu. You should be able to adjust parameters such as fan activation temperature (when the fans turn on) and fan deactivation temperature (when the fans turn off). Set Fan Activation Temperature: Set the fan activation temperature to a lower value to ensure that the cooling fans engage at a lower coolant temperature. This helps in maintaining engine temperatures within an optimal range, especially when using a lower temperature thermostat like a 180-degree Fahrenheit thermostat. Save Changes: Once you have adjusted the fan settings to your preference, save the changes within the custom tuning menu. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm and save the modifications. Flash the Tune: After saving the changes, you'll need to flash (install) the custom tune to your vehicle's ECU (engine control unit). Follow the instructions provided by the tuner to complete the flashing process. This may involve turning the ignition on and off or following specific steps outlined by the tuner. Test and Monitor: After flashing the custom tune, start the vehicle and monitor the cooling system operation. Ensure that the cooling fans engage and disengage at the desired temperatures as set in the custom tune. Test the vehicle under various driving conditions to verify proper cooling system functionality. It's essential to exercise caution when adjusting cooling fan settings and performing custom tuning on your vehicle. Ensure that you have a good understanding of the parameters you're adjusting and their potential impact on vehicle performance and reliability. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with making these adjustments yourself, consider consulting with a professional tuner or automotive technician for assistance.
