In this cave diving quest, Sylas performs a mix of textural electronica, beats, jungle, and IDM influenced by Aphex Twin, Autechre, Prefuse73, Memo Boy, Otto Benson, and Floating Points. Thousands of years of stalagmites surrounded us as we navigated tight, muddy passageways and tried not to think about those “Caving Gone Horribly Wrong” videos. Composed of five distinct sets that are equal parts introspective performance art and expeditionary feat, BIOMES contrasts Sylas’ meditative, digital expression with our world’s natural visual spectacle.
