Who Focus Pulls Best: Filmic Pro, Protake, or Beastcam?

Curious how to pull focus with your phone app? There are only three filmmaking apps available on Android and iOS that have automatic focus pulling functions: Protake, Filmic Pro, and Beastcam. Each app has it's own approach to focus pulls, but one outshines the others. In this video, we'll try out three different focus pulls commonly used in film and test them out on each app. You'll also see how you can use each app to perform your own automatic focus pulls. Update: I am using an iPhone 11 Pro in this video. Apparently, it is also possible to set the focus pull speed from 1 to 10 in Filmic Pro on Android where it was not possible in my demonstration. A CONSIDERATION: It is worth mentioning that earlier I had decided to deactivate my Protake account because the company who produces the Protake app essentially provides zero customer support and cannot be contacted. They seem only interested in continued customer subscription payments and little if any concern for the customers themselves. I deactivated the app’s subscription yet later found that my account was renewed and charged. This is why I now have access to Protake’s manual controls. When my subscription is up for renewal again, I may cancel again and track if my account is charged after deactivation. That may become a video in and of itself for a later date.
