One of the best selling female artists of all time Nana Mouskouri recorded 'Weiße Rosen aus Athen' for a German documentary about Greece, it became a huge hit selling over 1 million copies in Germany, and in 1962 she released the English version ' The White Rose Of Athens' which soon became one of her signature tunes. Nana toured extensively around the world as well as recording in 15 languages including Greek, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and Welsh. In 2008 Nana embarked on her final world tour and gave her final performance on July 23rd at the ancient Herodes Atticus Theatre, in Athens, Greece. This recording is taken from the original 1962 45 rpm record.
