One bowl recipes are always a cook's favourite - less mess to clean. This is a take on lemon squares but with guava and no meringue... trust me on this, it's an easy summer treat. Please Subscribe: / @tiffanysgrubbox3827 Step 1: Crust In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup Butter (cubed) 1/4 cup Brown Sugar 1 cup Flour You can make a crust with a bunch of tools, clean hands works just fine every time. Flatten crust mixture out in a 9x9" or similar pan, using parchment paper ensures an easier cutting, serving and cleaning up experience. Bake in an oven preheated to 350F for 15 minutes or until the wetness from the butter bakes off. Step 2: Topping Wipe out any clinging crust bits from the bowl, add in 1/2 cup Guava Juice (other juices work as well) 2 Eggs 3/4 cup Sugar 1/4 tsp Baking Powder 2 tbsp Flour 1 tbsp Corn Starch (use only corn or potato starch to cut down on gluten or use it on a gluten free crust) Blend together well to remove lumps. I found my mixture looked pale and sickly so I added a couple of drops of Red Food Colouring, but that is entirely optional. Pour filling onto hot crust and return to oven for 25-35 minutes (depends on oven and juices used).
