In one of our previous videos, we spoke about Rear Axle. Front axle takes the weight of the front portion of the vehicle and gives steering facility along with these, it also provides cushioning effect with the help of suspension system and absorbs the shock. In this video, further, we will talk about the construction, components and the type of front axle. The first component is the axle beam. It is manufactured by drop forging of steel. The second component is the kingpin and is made of good quality case hardened steel. It permits the wheels to steer. The third component is the Track Rod. The toe-in and toe-out setup are done by adjusting the track rod’s length with the help of threads present on them. The last component is the Drag Link. This connects both the stub axle and steering drop arm.
