The SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital has launched a platform to produce and develop advanced therapy drugs. 🔬 This joint immunotherapy platform, promoted together with Hospital Clínic, will allow the production of treatments such as CAR-T cells and could soon produce therapies for other types of oncohematological diseases or minority diseases currently lacking effective treatment. 🧬 Until now, these treatments were administered by specialists at the paediatric hospital to patients with therapies produced at other centres or by pharmaceutical companies. 🥽 At present, Sant Joan de Déu will be able to produce these medicines in-house and will have the capacity to supply other centres. All this so that every child or adolescent can have access to the treatment they need.
