Utility Lines Construction Services "inspirational speech" given by one of the new supervisors. Personally, it sounded hate filled and very targeted in my opinion. The longer you watch, the more ridiculous it sounds. Some key points to listen for: • A worker is joked about as being a "swallower" and not a "spitter". • If you don't work weekends and long hours you're useless to the company and don't matter and are replaceable. • If you see someone sleeping in a truck you are given permission to hit them in the head as long as you don't cause a need for stitches. • If you see someone using their phone in a truck you have permission to grab and throw it out the window because "that's exactly what I'd do." • An overall threatening nature of the speech and a "talk down to" feeling presented. Quite frankly, I don't think this is the type of leadership I'd want in command of a few dozen guys at one of the largest power subcontractors in the state.
