Kaleidoscope - Once Upon A Time There Was A World 1969 Mexico Psychedelic Rock • Progressive Rock • Psychedelic Rock Album. Kaleidoscope – Kaleidoscope (1969) Mexico This is a monster psych classic from Mexico City c.1968/69, one of the rarest and most desired psychedelic albums of all time! A great album, with all songs in English—heavy grooves, super fuzzified guitar and a raving, ranting, drooling savage garage sound. Though Kaleidoscope gigged a lot in Mexico City (and later Cuernavaca), none of them were actually from Mexico. Frank Tirado, of Puerto Rico, was on vocals and bass, Orly Vázquez, also of Puerto Rico, and Spanish transplant Pedrín García both commanded electric guitar. Rafael Cruz and Julio Arturo Fernández of the Dominican Republic handled drums and organ. They recorded their sole S/T album in 1967 at Fabiola Studios in the Dominican Republic, which wasn’t released until two years later by the Mexican label Orfeón.
